Environmental Policy (EP) Master’s Program at Lehigh University

Lehigh’s interdisciplinary program brings together students from the social sciences, natural sciences, and humanities to dig more deeply into issues affecting the built and natural environment and the policies necessary to address them.  EP students grapple with many of today’s most pressing questions through interdisciplinary coursework, independent research, and community-based internships. Students learn about how the legal and political structures currently – or might potentially – affect environmental challenges, and how social practices, moral authority and economic dynamics all influence policy decisions.

Lehigh offers concentrations (and graduate certificates) in five topic areas: Environmental Health · Environmental Justice · Environmental Law & Policy Sustainable Development · Urban Environmental Policy & Planning

But EP can be tailored to meet any student’s individual interest, and current students are crafting their own concentrations, too, in areas like Environmental Education and Environmental Policy & Big Data.

It is possible to complete the program’s 30 credits (10 courses) in as little as 12 months, and they offer a range of merit-based scholarships, stipends, and Community Fellowships, to offset students’ costs.

Please feel free to explore our program’s website (www.lehigh.edu/epd) and know that I’m more than happy to answer any questions you or your students may have. Professor Pooley, the director of the Environmental Policy Program, is also available to answer questions regarding the program at kbp312@lehigh.edu.
