Adam McMahon is originally from Ohio. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Bowling Green State University, his M.S. from Portland State University in Oregon, and his doctorate from The Graduate Center, City University of New York in 2018.
Dr. McMahon’s research and teaching focuses on American political institutions, including the presidency and Congress. He is currently working on a book-length manuscript entitled Taming the Beast, which analyzes presidential decision-making over the permanent national security state from the end of the Korean War to the end of the war in Afghanistan.
Dr. McMahon teaches courses on American politics. He lives with his partner in New York City.
