Double Major Agreements

TCNJ allows up to three courses to count between majors for students who elect to double major. The Department of Political Science has an agreement with the Department of Criminology to assist students who want to double major in Political Science and Criminology.

Below is a list of courses that count for POL/CRIM double majors and internal transfers to Political Science (students dropping a Criminology major and adding a Political Science major). This agreement only applies to students who are double majors in both programs. Single majors cannot apply these courses to their respective majors.

Political Science will accept the following Criminology courses to be counted as elective credit:
  • CRI 200/Policing Civil Societies
  • CRI 201/Judicature
  • CRI 340/International Terrorism
  • CRI 363/School to Prison Pipeline
Criminology will accept the following Political Science courses:
  • To count for a CRI 200-level elective
    • POL 220/Judicial Politics & Process
  • To count for a CRI 300-level elective
    • POL 320/Law and Society
    • POL 321/Constitutional Law I: Institutions and Powers
    • POL 322/Constitutional Law II: Civil Rights and Liberties
    • POL 324/Moot Court
    • POL 325/Mock Trial
    • POL 337/International Law to count for a 300-level elective
